PHOTOGRAPHY

Pranab’s early work with point and shoot cameras in documentary photography was praised by American Cinematographer Andre Lascaris, In 2007, he was fortunate to have received a days workshop on Visual Aesthetics and basic photography from Andre through America India Foundation, Delhi.

Graduating from the prestigious AJKMCRC with PG Diploma in Photography and Visual Communication in 2009, for his work on environment, he went on to win the most coveted Sony world Photography Award in Cannes, travelling to France and honing his skills further with workshops from PANOS Pictures and Portfolio reviews from Marry Allen Mark, Susan Welchman, Tom Ang etc.

With more 200 photo stories panning across rural and remote India, Pranab is known for his detailed and sensitive capture of human struggle, conflict and celebration around modern developmental issues. He was on a 3 years (2015-2018) contract with UNDP for the east & north east zone. Recently in 2023, he travelled to Bangladesh commissioned by Heifer International, USA to photograph the unique work of Bangladeshi Farmers.

He has captured many developmental issues for major iNGOs that includes UNW, UNDP, India HIV Aids Alliance, Public Health Foundation of India, CREA, Water Aid, Smile Foundation, Gram Vikas, Bernard Van Leer Foundation, Heifer International, Accion, etc.

His work ranges mostly around children, environment, nature and human alienation from its roots in pursuit of modern aspirations, seeking for hope amidst chaos.
