Pranab Aich is an internationally recognized documentary photographer and filmmaker from India. His stint as a volunteer with developmental organizations in Delhi shaped his early work.
Highlighting issues related to human-rights, health, environment & education, his work frequently features in international forums. He has filmed more than 100 social issue campaign short documentaries pan India in his career span over 15 years. He is known for raising social and cultural awareness through his work.
Winner of the Sony World Photography Award Cannes 2009, his short documentaries have been showcased at more than 50 film festivals globally which includes major forums like Durban International Film Festival 2022-Africa, IFF Ekotop 2016- Bratislava, DocuTIFF 2016-Tirana, BJIFF 2016-China to name a few. Recently, his debut feature film has been included in World’s Oldest Documentary film festival Dok LEIPZIG’s Germany 40 market exclusives 2024. He has also been selected to Asia’s largest film festival Platform Busan 2024, South Korea as an emerging filmmaker. In 2024, he received Odisha state film awards for his 2 short documentaries Manayun and Torch.
